Juventus unveil third kit made from ocean plastic set to be worn by Cristiano Ronaldo

JUVENTUS have launched their new third kit for this season – made from plastic recycled from the world’s oceans.

The Italian champions will be wearing a new dark grey strip made by adidas – with new signing Cristiano Ronaldo able to publicise the strip to the masses.

It is manufactured completely from the Parley material which is made up solely from plastic recovered from waters across the planet.

They are the latest big European club to do their bit for supporting the environment by wearing the Parley strip.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will all have third kits made out of the material.

Francesca Venturini, Designer at adidas said:” The new Juve third kit has eco-innovation and longevity at its very heart.

“Through our partnership with Parley for the Oceans we’ve been able to create this beautiful jersey made from Ocean Plastic.

“The dark grey shade with yellow accents makes it the perfect jersey to be worn either on pitch or on the streets.”

Juve have entered a new level of worldwide commercial status following the capture of Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

The Serie A club have already seen a huge upturn in shirt sales with Ronaldo’s name on, having splashed out £99million to take the forward to Turin.

And sales of the new third kit are also expected to do better than previously thought, just on the back of the Portugal star wearing it.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina set for £6million move to Argentinian side Boca Juniors

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina set for £6million move to Argentinian side Boca Juniors

ARSENAL and Colombia goalkeeper David Ospina is set for his second English exit of the summer with a move to Boca Juniors, according to reports.

Gareth Southgate’s side knocked Colombia out of the World Cup – despite their most questionable efforts – and the Gunners now look ready to ship him out to Argentina.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina will be hoping to keep a third consecutive clean sheetEPA

The Mirror reports Unai Emery is ready to accept just £6million for the goalie, despite him having two years left on his contract.

Arsenal have made four summer signings already with German keeper Bernd Leno part of the squad overhaul.

And the hot prospect might be the ideal man to compete with Petr Cech for the Emirate No1 shirt.

After losing to England in a quarter-final penalty shoot-out, Ospina’s agent insisted he had enjoyed a brilliant Russia tournament and revealed he was unhappy at Arsenal.

Lucas Jaramillo said: “David has had an excellent World Cup, it has been very important for him, it is not a lie for anyone to say that he finds himself uncomfortable in Arsenal

“There are several clubs interested in David, but leaving Arsenal is not easy because they’re team that pays well and asks a lot for the player, and we must add that he has a contract for two more years.

“We had already considered the Boca option but it is not easy right now economically for a club like Boca to pay that much for a goalkeeper.

“He would like to come to Boca but it is not the time, we are focused on staying in Europe because he is relatively young.”

“David has two more years left on his contract at Arsenal, he will have to go back now, there is a new coach, a new goalkeeper who has the coach’s confidence so this might be the end of the line.

“But if there are no options in Europe Boca is a great choice because they are one of the 10 biggest teams in the world.”

Borussia Dortmund eyeing Wilfried Zaha to replace West Ham target Andriy Yarmolenko

Borussia Dortmund eyeing Wilfried Zaha to replace West Ham target Andriy Yarmolenko

BORUSSIA DORTMUND will use the money from Andriy Yarmolenko’s transfer to West Ham to help fund a move for Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha has been linked with a move away from Crystal Palace and Dortmund will look to swoop for the winger.

SunSport revealed last week that the Ivory Coast international turned down a £125,000-a-week contract at Selhurst Park.

It is understood he is keen to prove himself at a big club again following his difficult stint at Manchester United between 2013 and 2015.

And with Borussia Dortmund set to sell winger Yarmolenko to West Ham for £17.5million this transfer window, Zaha could be a suitable replacement for the German outfit.

Of course, the fee received from the Hammers would not cover the entire cost of Zaha, who Palace have stamped a £70m price tag on.

Dortmund will face competition from Tottenham and Everton, though, who are both thought to be keen on the pacey winger.

Zaha was named Crystal Palace Player of the Year for the third year in a row at the end of last season and would be difficult to replace in South London.

This is despite the fact that Palace are expected to shatter their record transfer sale, which currently stands at £25m following Yannick Bolasie’s move to Everton in 2016.

Roy Hodgson will need to make signings soon with Yohan Cabaye and Bakary Sako already leaving the club this summer as the Eagles will be desperate to avoid a repeat of last season’s Premier League start.

Marouane Fellaini snubbed Arsenal for Manchester United stay as Red Devils’ contract offer was better

MAROUANE FELLAINI reportedly snubbed Arsenal to stay at Manchester United because Jose Mourinho offered him a better contract than Unai Emery.

The Times claims Fellaini decided against a move to the Emirates after being impressed by United’s final deal on the table.

The 30-year-old looked set to leave Old Trafford this summer after rejecting numerous attempts to extend his deal throughout the season.

Euro giants including Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan were linked, but it was Arsenal who quickly became frontrunners for his signature.

However, it was revealed this week that Fellaini had performed a miraculous U-turn following months of speculation.

It’s believed the Belgian was offered a two-year contract by United with the option to extend for a third season.

The report adds that Fellaini will make his new deal official this weekend ahead of his sixth season at the club.

Meanwhile, United are reportedly looking to strengthen three key areas in order to challenge Manchester City for their Premier League title.

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, Lyon winger Nabil Fekir and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowksi are all said to be on Mourinho’s radar following the capture of Porto right-back Diogo Dalot and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.

Luke Shaw’s Manchester United contract could be extended with Alex Sandro too expensive

Football news - transfers, fixtures, scores, pictures | The Sun
Luke Shaw’s Manchester United contract could be extended with Alex Sandro too expensive

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly considering a new contract for Luke Shaw.

The Manchester Evening News claims Jose Mourinho could yet hand the 22-year-old a reprieve as he enters the final year of his Old Trafford deal.

Jose Mourinho could hand Luke Shaw a new Man Utd contract this summerJose Mourinho could hand Luke Shaw a new Man Utd contract this summerPA:Empics Sport

Shaw has failed to inspire since joining the Red Devils from Southampton in 2014, and some high-profile criticism from the Special One saw his stock plummet even further this season.

However, United’s failure to secure a new left-back in the close season means Shaw could end up staying put for at least another year.

Mourinho is believed to have identified Juventus supremo Alex Sandro as the man to solve his defensive conundrum.

But the Serie A champions will not let him go for any less than £52million, a price which United are reluctant to pay for a full-back.

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE All the latest action, news, goals and gossip from the World Cup United are considering their options after being priced out of a move for Alex SandroUnited are considering their options after being priced out of a move for Alex SandroGetty Images

Mourinho has also shown interest in Tottenham’s Danny Rose and Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, as well as Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.

But with Ashley Young impressing in the role last season – earning him a place in England’s World Cup starting XI – the Special One could be sticking with Shaw as back-up for the time being.

It means he could yet be rewarded with a new contract, meaning United won’t risk losing him for nothing in 2019.

But whether the ace fancies spending more time on the bench remains to be seen, with the likes of Leicester, Southampton and even Barcelona mentioned as potential suitors.

In the history of the planet's most popular sport, only 20 people can say they have been the best player on the pitch in a World Cup final. Schweinsteiger is one of them. Events of that magnitude...

Liverpool ready to push on Xherdan Shaqiri deal with Stoke when World Cup ends

Football news - transfers, fixtures, scores, pictures | The Sun
Liverpool ready to push on Xherdan Shaqiri deal with Stoke when World Cup ends

LIVERPOOL are ready to step up their interest in signing Xherdan Shaqiri – once the World Cup finishes next month.

The Reds have shown an interest in signing the Stoke forward following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season.

Liverpool are ready to press ahead with their attempts to sign Xherdan Shaqiri after the World Cup finishesLiverpool are ready to press ahead with their attempts to sign Xherdan Shaqiri after the World Cup finishesREUTERS

According top the Mirror, boss Jurgen Klopp has sounded out the Swiss international about the possibility of making a £12million move to Anfield and received encouraging feedback.

And it is claimed the club will step up their efforts to reach an agreement with Stoke when the tournament in Russia concludes.

But if Liverpool do press ahead with signing the 26-year-old winger, it will not be as an alternative to Lyon star Nabil Fekir.

The France international’s anticipated £57m move to Merseyside collapsed over the weekend amid criticism from the Lyon president.

Switzerland are hoping to make it through to the knock-out stages of the World CupShaqiri has arrived in Russia where Switzerland are hoping to make it through to the knock-out stages of the World CupGetty - Contributor

Fekir, 24, was the man who was being targeted to fill the playmaker role in Klopp’s squad following the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January.

And though Shaqiri was the creative force in the Stoke side, he is not seen by Klopp as the major arrival Liverpool want to replace Coutinho.

It is almost certain the former Inter Milan star will be on his way out of the Bet365 Stadium over the course of the close season.

Manager Gary Rowett is aware several of his big names will be picked off this summer, with Shaqiri on of them.

No.1 DESTINATION For our World Cup exclusives, gossip, action, video and fun

It is understood the player has a relegation clause in his contract allowing him to leave for the same money Stoke paid Inter to sign him.

And at that price he is seen as a bargain by Liverpool to add to their attacking options, having proven himself in the Premier League over the past three years.

Other clubs have also shown an interest at that price, with both Southampton and Tottenham checking on his availability.

But it is Liverpool who appear to be at the head of the queue, once Swizterland’s involvement in Russia 2018 is over.

The Swiss are hopeful of making it through to at least the last-16 of the tournament, having been drawn in Group E along with Brazil, Serbia and Costa Rica.
